I was honored this year to be able to choose a few students to create ornaments that will decorate trees in the Governor’s mansion down in Baton Rouge this year. Five students were given wooden ornaments, sharpies, and liquid watercolors. Each student spent some time sketching ideas on newsprint and all five discussed color choices and concepts with each other before beginning on their final design.
They were especially excited that their extended family and relatives in south Louisiana will have an opportunity to go and see their art work!
It is truly amazing to work in such a creative state that encourages and supports the arts for all ages.
